The wood used by Goldeck®, comes from the forests of Bolivia with Forest Certificates of Origin (CFO).
The principal wood of our production is the Ipe (Tabebuia Impetiginosa), but also we work any type of tropical wood as:
- CUCHI
- CURUPAU
- ALMENDRILLO
- JATOBA |

IPÉ - TAJIBO (Tabebuia Impetiginosa)
Albura
wood's colour is yellowish white and duramen (heartwood)
is slightly dark brownish-grey olive colour. It can also
have fine brownish-grey streaks. Albura wood can be clearly
differentiated. Wood fibre alignment is very fine and arranged
in layers. It presents an interlocked fibre and can sometimes
be very pronounced. Grain is subtle, though depending on
the species, it can be medium. Wood has cavities filled
with a greenish yellow deposit (lapacho).
Ipé
wood is considered resistant against mushrooms, insects
and termites. It possesses excellent conditions so that
it can be used outdoors, since its saturation rate is very
low and its density high; it, therefore, reduces determining
expansion and contraction movements and accordingly, the
lowest fissuring rate ever known. |
